EXPLORING MICROSOFT WORD MENU CATEGORIES



LESSON 3
Microsoft Word menu contents has been recreated and grouped into categories. That is, the commands and formatting tools used in the lower versions like Word 98-2005 now have a new outlook. Unlike in the lower version where we have our formatting tool bar and standard tool bar on a separate bars, in the higher version like 2007, these bars have been removed and categories among menus. In this section, we shall look into these categories and their sub categories. This lesson requires a critical attentiveness, the ability to master and recall where each command is found. By the end of this lesson, questions and answers will be drawn from the students to ascertain their level of understanding. 1.     HOME TAB MENU: The Home tab menu is divided into 5 categories, namely,
a.     Clipboard
b.     Font
c.      Paragraph
d.     Styles
e.      Editing.

a.     Clipboard Category: The clipboard just as the name implies, places actions or copies, and cut contents in virtual form waiting to be recalled. In the clipboard category of the home tab menu, the following commands are found.

             
          i.       Cut
ii.                 Copy
iii.              Paste
iv.              Format painter

Copy the selection and put it on the clipboard

cut the selection from the document and put it on the clipboard

Paste the content of the clipboard

Copy formatting from one place and apply it to another. Double click this button to apply the same formatting to multiple places in the document
